Its been too long!

Sorry guys,i have been neglecting the world of blogging i am sorry to say. Good news though.. i have finally got a job in a cafe by me. Its so nice and friendly, and has had a bit of a stream of christians going through there recently.. a few from my church.. hmm interesting. : ) Now theres an answer to prayer! I have been going through a crazy time recently.. feeling like a bit of a lost sheep. With being home from uni and not having much to do .. i'm afraid i have had too much time to think and its got me stressing about life and all things in it. I have just read Phillipians ch 4 though and it realy helped me to remember that i need to rely on God and trust him even when i'm feeling really insecure and don't really know where i'm going or what i'm doing. So its all God. Things aren't rosy, but hey we're all human, we don't have to smile all the time, right?

Well.. tonight, i am off to go bungee jumping, with my church youth group, well its a horizontal one, where you see how far you can run before you get pulled back at however many billion miles an hour. So uh.. it should be fun. I'll see how many bruises i can get. YAY!

Carnival time!

We had the summer carnival in my village today. It was so much fun. I dressed up as an egyptian princess. haha! felt very silly! My church took part in the float competition so we spent the morning decorating the lorry and then all got on in our costumes and paraded down the village along with many others. It was so much fun to be a part of, with the bands playing and the children had so much fun. When we got down to the common, we had stalls set up and lots of fun things to do. I was amazed to see how much the churches are the focal point of the community still. One church were providing all the refreshments and the other did an 'its a knock out' style game and a puppet show and face painting. The amount of oppurtunities for chatting to people were amazing. We have a holiday club in my church in 2 weeks time. I'm really looking forward to having fun in that. We usually get a hundred or so children there and its a great oppurtunity as far as parents go too. Prayer for that would be really good.

Think what God thinks.

I've been thinking today about the amazingly intense feeling i get when God gives me his emotions about things. I have had this a lot recently about some of the horrible things that are going on in this world and i think its something we should pray for, that we all have the heart of God. It really helps me to genuinely care about people and situations, because i'm useless at doing it in my own capacity.

hmm.. so much to blog about. I ate well at church today! This morning the focus was Romans 12. There's a bit of a Romans vibe going on at the moment. I'm feeling its a good thing. We talked about differences in people and their gifts and different parts of the body all working together. Then my mind was just completely blown as the minister started talking about how we should weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice. (vs. 15). He said that in order to work together as one body we need to love each other and in doing so be there to support each other. We can't always understand what people are going but we can weep with them regardless of what we have experiences ourselves. Sometimes we need to put our rejoicing aside and be selfless and join hand with somebody who needs our help and time. Also in referring to vs 5-8 he started talking about how we should build people up in their gifts and not stand in their way, and we should encourage on another.

Following on from this the evening service was about conflict and how many conflicts can be solved if our focus in it all is to show God's glory as the most important thing. We shouldn't be selfish and think about what we want. Also we shouldn't just up and leave if we have a problem with a church without resolving it because we will just take the problem around with us to other churches. We are always going to come across conflict with people but we need to presevere in perfect love.

This was a very good day for me.. i haven't said half of what i wanted to becuase i have a pea sized memory, but this was the gist of it all. I may try and remember more and blog again.

Money, money, money!

ok, i don't really know what to put here, but i have just read a news article about a couple wanting to put their 7 year old son onto their credit card, in order that he may start to build up a good credit history already, making it easy to acquire things 'cheaply' later in life. We all know that this isn't really free and that he will get himself into debt later in life with such a poor start as to encourage him from such an early age to use credit cards. It made me think about Scotts talk on finance again and how important it is to be careful with money and try to stay out of debt. In response to these thoughts i am starting my spreadsheet of accounts today.

I also decided to start writing a story of mine into a proper book last night and have got a few good ideas for more chapters (watch this space....anyone know how to get books published? haha!). In doing this i also came up with another idea and was up nearly all night writting it down before i went to sleep and forgot it. We all know what my memory is like!

I'm going to the cinema tonight to see the long awaited Pirates of the Carribean! YAY! I can't wait. Will come back and tell you how amazing it was tomorrow i'm sure. hehe.

I am in a bit of a muddle after these last couple of days as far as work goes. I have been asked to go to an interview with acorn play group, but am also waiting for feedback on another job in the Welsh Assembly. I would prefer the later ideally, but am not sure who will accept me first, if at all. Also i don't really know if i'm cut out for the Welsh assembly work so its gonna be all down to God, although that is a good thing. :) However, its all a bit un-nerving. It would be good if you guys could pray about it. Saw an old friend today and met up for a drink. It was so nice to catch up, i was getting really worried about not having anyone to see at home so it was really good.

Lazee Dayz

Well.. i spent the day lazing around in the sun today. Was sooo nice for a change. I did productively apply for a job though. It would be really good if you could all pray. I'm waiting for a reply to see if i get an interview or get the job without one. Its working in the welsh assembly government so it would be a really good oppurtunity for me. Went to the beach this evening with my church youth group, played an excellent game of volleyball with apparantly no rules involved. hehe. very amusing.

I love church!

I am so excited today about the amount of fellowship i have been blessed with amongst people in church. I went to my home church today and was so blessed to have such good friends there. I feel like wherever i go God always provides love and care. I do miss Fam though i just wish i could be in 2 places at once. This morning in church we were talking about the importance of encouraging one another in the faith. It really made me think about taking more notice of the people i wouldn't normally bother to talk to. This evening was amazing, we listened to a guy speaking about prayer and how you don't need to be anything you're not when praying to God. He is just waiting to listen to us just as we are and loves us just as we are. All he wants is for us to talk to him and listen to him speak. He loves to hear is talk to him.

Croeso i gymru

I've finally dragged myself away from the wonderful reading. This was very difficult after having had such a good week. Many memorable last experiences (last union/last CU/ last night in halls....etc). Oh i'm sad now. I shall miss all my Reading friends, they're great. I had a BBQ with all the family waiting for me when i got home. Yummy! Meat! Portugal v England = 1-0, (cough, cough, i shall say no more). I am going to have a hot chocolate and relax in front of the t.v now. (wow! i haven't watched t.v. for ages, thats weird, but probably a good thing.) I'm really looking forward to going to my home church today and seeing my church family again! Bye for now. xxx

Today was stupendous (we decided we’re bored of the word amazing, so I thought I’d throw a new one in there!) I got up immensely early 7:15, argh! However much to my joy it was well worth it as me, Anna and Nicola were going to the Reading Family church (a.k.a Fam) women’s breakfast. I blogged a quote from the bible on here earlier because I was so eager to tell about it. They gave us all a red balloon with a book mark with that quote on it. How sweet! The food was great, all very civilised, (see I told you we can be lady-like!)

Living Life

Liz Green spoke about living life as a woman of God and talked about how we were predestined to be exactly as we are, ‘Fearfully and wonderfully made’. She talked about ‘to live’ being a verb and therefore not a passive thing. We should be getting involved and doing things for God to show his glory through us. Jesus came so that we may not just have life, but life in abundance. It was amazing to grasp that truth today. I was talking last night about how grateful I am for my friends and I was reminded of the importance of that again today. Liz was saying about how we should take responsibility for our relationships and referred to Proverbs – ‘a wise woman builds her house’. This doesn’t just involved friends though, we influence people all the time even if its only a few minutes.

Unique Life

Liz talked about us all being like Mona Lisa’s; we were only made once and can never be made again in the same way. I was really challenged to think about what makes me me and realised that I’m not sure I really know. I am trusting that God will show me more of his plan as I grow and learn and that through this into what he has called me to be. We talked about life being full of ‘rise up’ moments, when we are challenged and need to stand strong, but God has given us all armour to do this. We can stand on the word of God as our rock.

Living a Worshipping Life

What should we do with our potential? We all have the potential to do big things. What constitutes something big in this world though is not necessarily big to God. The woman that poured out oil on Jesus’ feet gave everything she had to him and made a big statement of her love for him in that one act. It didn’t appear to be much, but it was. Just as the woman only had one bottle of oil to pour, we only have one life to pour out on Jesus. We should then lavish our potential on Jesus. The presence of Jesus in this world now is represented in the body of the church and so we should be pouring out our God given potential and gifts on the church of Jesus.

Women (Warrior Princess’)

God in heaven loves you! You have a company of women who believe in you. Encourage one another. We need each others fellowship.

Well I’ve just successfully ranted about women for a whole blog, but you men are great too, and are a great help to us.

Warrior Princess!

'I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.' - Ephesians 4 vs 1.

Women: you are an amazing creation, unique, daughter, overcomer, warrior, worshipper, encourager.
